Final thoughts on LSSSC:
- 1). When listening to the OST in this game, it gives me of feeling of gliding through dreams.
- 2). All the playable characters have their own traits that are relatable. Nall makes me smile with his sass and sarcasm. Kyle’s antics alone just make me want to burst out laughing. I would have to say they are my favorite characters in the game. Least favorite character would have to be Nash. He’s over confidence and treachery are not something I condone. I can’t seem to forgive him.
- 3). The animated cut scenes are top tier, especially being from the PS1 era. Almost 20 years later, the graphics are still eye catching to say the least.
- 4). The story that LSSSC provides makes you want to dive in for hours of gameplay to see what happens next. It was very difficult for me not to continue the story myself off screen because I was so immersed.
- 5). Battle sequence is well balanced and easy to maneuver.
- 6). Having to use the “give item” to provide other players with healing items or accessories can be tedious. This is one minor annoyance I can look past.
- 7). Dungeons in some areas of the game are too long and drawn out for my liking.
Overall, LSSSC is a true hidden gem amongst the massive amount of JRPGs available for the PS1. I would give this game an 9.5 out of 10 for my overall satisfaction score. LSSSC will also be going into my 10 ten favorite JRPGs on PS1 of all time.
