''Everyone appreciates a sport utility vehicle that combines commanding visibility with dependable off-road capability. Enter the Honda CR-V, which was introduced in 1995. Featured here is the fifth-generation model, launched in 2016. Measuring 4.6 m in length and 1.85 m wide, it shares its underpinnings with the tenth-generation Civic. Notably, this was the first CR-V to offer a hybrid powertrain, delivering impressive fuel economy even at highway speeds. Spacious and comfortable—particularly in the back—it provides more than 1,100 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded. Equipped with advanced driving assists tailored to modern needs, the fifth-generation CR-V is a car for town and country.

In the 1990s, Honda embarked on creating vehicles tailored for leisure, coining the term "Creative Movers" to define this new category. The first of these was the Odyssey, launched in 1994 to widespread commercial acclaim. A year later, the concept expanded with the debut of a crossover SUV. This was the first-generation CR-V. From that point onward, the CR-V established itself as a perennial favorite, particularly in the North American market. A defining feature of this generation was the introduction of a hybrid powertrain—the first such offering for the series. The system paired a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine with two electric motors, capable of operating in both series and parallel modes. Its efficiency shined particularly at cruising speeds, where the gasoline engine took over. The availability of 4-wheel drive further broadened its appeal, offering versatility across a range of driving conditions. Beyond its practicality and efficiency, the fifth-generation CR-V was equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features, including collision mitigation braking and adaptive cruise control.
