After reporting our findings, we were granted passage to the mountains, so we can go to Gaoyang Ruins. At the next camp, we explain to Chu Hong, how the "old man" locked in the Clockwork room, has been guiding us to find the key to free him and restore my sister's body.
Upon arrival to the mountains, we find the merchant from before surrounded by monsters, seems he disturbed a Soul Snare. A box filled with human souls to lure in monsters. Seems the Lijun did this, which has caused the increase in monsters. After releasing the poor souls, we head to the ruins.
While exploring around, Chu asks about why we are working with the Lijun. We explain that there are wanted posters up for me, because I am the soul heir to my family name, and the Lijun keep me safe as long as I help them. From there, Chu proceeds to explain, that during her 6 years studying away from home, the Lijun massacred her people!!! This is why she seeks to take them out.
After a series of clockwork water puzzles, we found a Maohist workshop and an intact clockwork piece. Using the Elysium spell, we teleport to the clockwork door. Using the piece a TALKING PARROT comes out, named Jipeng. Seems he's king of Aveum, a giant tree kingdom of talking parrots. He wastes no time, teaches us the art of fusion so we can repair my sisters body, however, it all goes wrong. Seems the demon that killed my sister, left traces of Black Flame inside her. This causes the fusion to go all wrong and her body turns into a Black Fire demon!!!!
Managing to subdue the creature, we threated to lock Jipeng back up, but he assures us, with enough Black Flame and the help of his mistress, we may be able to just build her a whole new body. So, we set out to find the lady in green.
Before we head north though, we check back in with Liu Xiu. He says we can march north with him and his army, but first he needs our assistance. Seems his brother may be plotting to overthrow the general. We agree to help and rendezvous at Xianghe Pass when we are done. We head out first to warn general Bosheng, however seems he's gone to the canyon to look into bandit activity. Heading there, he was in fact surrounded. We help him, just intime for the man that told us his location, to make an attempt on the general's life. We quickly subdue him and then set out to also warn Liu ji of the attempt!!!
